There are a lot of phone calls from someone claiming to be from IRS demanding immediate payment. Its a scam.However, IRS can make a phone call, in order :
-to secure a delinquent tax return or employment tax payment
-to tour a business
-when there is an overdue tax bill.
HOWEVER, taxpayers will first receive a letter or notice in the mail from the IRS.
NOTE that:
-IRS will not demand an immediate payment and use a specific method or ask for debit or credit cards.
-IRS does not threaten to bring in local police, immigration officers or other agencies
